The Bookseer.com

This is a great referral site! Type in the title and author of a book you enjoyed, and it searches Amazon.com, LibraryThing, and Book Army for new recommendations for you.

I recently finished – and enjoyed – Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann, so I decided to give this a try. Here are the recommendations I got from The Book Seer:

Amazon recommends:

No recommendations from LibraryThing or Book Army. Out of the selections from Amazon.com, I recently purchased Brooklyn by Colm Toibin, and have already read A Gate at the Stairs by Lorrie Moore, so I felt like the recommendations were in line with my own reading taste.

After that, I decided to try a more classic book, so I entered one of my all-time favorites, The Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. No recommendations for that, so there are limitations here.

Still, I’ve often finished a great book and wished I knew something similar to read next. I’ll be visiting this site often!

Responses

  1. I’ve read and loved ‘Brooklyn’, so I second that recoomendation!

  2. I discovered this site last year through my mom who is a high school librarian. Teens get a kick out of this one 🙂

  3. The Master and The Blackwater Lightship are Toibin’s best. I was frankly underwhelmed by Brooklyn
